Sales distribution is the process of assigning a product to a specific retailer, wholesaler or another channel. Sales representatives are often in charge of distributing products and ensuring they reach their intended destination.
If you work for a sports brand as an account manager and operate out of New York City, one day your job may be to distribute merchandise via UPS to a sporting goods store in Pennsylvania. Similarly, other account managers work other areas and this process is called Sales distribution.
